I compared the soles of the KSOs and the Sprints and didn't see a difference, so I'm curious why the KSOs feel "softer" when running. The store didn't have KSOs in my size so I bought a pair of Sprints and ended up doing 18K in them today. Felt wonderful, except the straps gouged the tops of my feet a bit. They should make those out of neoprene, which would also allow some additional flexibility.

I should add that I've been running in Nike Free 3.0s for two years so there was no undue shock to the calves. After just one run in VFFs I'm pretty sure I'll never go back to standard running boards.
