Finding the Right Size Vibram Five Fingers
It’s important when ordering the Vibram Five Fingers Komodo Sport that you get the right size shoe. Vibram uses the European shoe size system so you will need to measure your foot and use this conversion chart to find the right size for you.

Vibram Five Fingers recommends the following procedure for accurately measuring your feet:
- Stand with your heels flush against a flat vertical wall.
- Slide a ruler under each foot and measure the distance from the wall to the tip of the longest toe.
- Take the longer of the two foot measurements.
- If the the foot length varies more than 1/6 in. it will be difficult to get a precise fit for both feet.
- If your your second toe is more than 1/6 in. longer than your big toe it may be difficult to get a precise fit

They look weird, but they’re awesome
I picked these up a few weeks ago, and I have to say, I love these shoes (and I use the term shoes lightly) Transitioning from the couch to minimalist running, I had anticipated foot pain and discomfort while I got used to the Vibrams, but I was surprised to find that that was not the case. Yesterday I ran 6k on an uneven and icy trail, and didn’t have so much as a blister to show for it. There are absolutely no hotspots or chaffing points on the inside of these things. I can see this pair lasting me all year. Do yourself a favor if this is your first pair of minimalist footwear, and do the research. If you don’t start gradually you can injure yourself with improper running technique. If you are already running in Vibrams, the Komodo Sport are fantastic, give them a try. |
