Product Description

The Vibram Five Fingers Bikila is one of the most unique running shoes out in market. Unlike many of the other styles of Five Fingers that Vibram made, the Bikila was designed to be a running shoe. It Features a Dri-Lex® covered 3mm polyurethane insole (thickest under the ball) and a 4mm anatomical pod outsole design that offers more plating protection. Despite the new soles created for protection throughout the concrete jungle, it still conforms to the standard Five Fingers toe design and allows for more freedom in the toe area and a more natural movement.

The Women’s Vibram Five Fingers Bikila is a unique running shoe that has a unique colorful style.

The Bikilas are the latest design by Vibram Five Finger and one of the more complex. The detailed sole, protective covering and style makes the Bikila’s absolutely one of a kind!

Finding the Right Size Vibram FiveFingers Bikila

It’s important when ordering the Vibram FiveFingers Bikila that you get the right size shoe. Vibram uses the European shoe size system so you will need to measure your foot and use this conversion chart to find the right size for you.

Foot Length (inches) 81⁄8 “ 83⁄8 “ 85⁄8 “ 87⁄8 “ 91⁄8 “ 93⁄8 “ 95⁄8 “ 97⁄8 “ 101⁄8 “ 103⁄8 “
Women’s Bikila Size NA 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42

Vibram FiveFingers recommends the following procedure for accurately measuring your feet:

  1. Stand with your heels flush against a flat vertical wall.
  2. Slide a ruler under each foot and measure the distance from the wall to the tip of the longest toe.
  3. Take the longer of the two foot measurements.
  4. If the the foot length varies more than 1/6 in. it will be difficult to get a precise fit for both feet.
  5. If your your second toe is more than 1/6 in. longer than your big toe it may be difficult to get a precise fit

Vibram FiveFingers Bikila Women Testimonials

Kerry S.,Culver City, CA Colorfully Wonderful! These shoes are very comfortable and seem much more durable than the sprints I initially got. My friend’s thought the colors were a bit too bright but I thought that they were colorfully wonderful! It was very hard for me to find the shoes so I did feel lucky that I got the shoes and I am happy to say I am not disappointed.

If you are a fan of the KSO’s or sprint I would have to say that the Bikila’s are a must buy. For those that still have not jumped aboard the barefoot bandwagon, you should look into it. It’s not for everybody, some of my friends have had problems when trying to adjust to the Vibram FiveFingers style of shoe and have reverted back to running in normal shoes.

I personally think that where you foot strike does make a big difference despite those who say that many of the top marathon runners of the world also strike with their heels first. Anyway, I hope Vibram keeps improving their line of shoes. Oh yea, make sure you don’t buy fake Vibrams, I’ve seen some out there and I just think it’s sad.

Helena, Newport Beach, CA Excellent Running Shoe. The Bikilas are a bit colorful but if you don’t mind wearing the other Vibrams like the KSO’s then i don’t think you will mind wearing the Bikila’s and in fact may enjoy the attention it gets you. When I first put on the shoe I felt it was comfortable and way more “advanced” than the other Vibrams. I’m not sure if  “advanced” is the right word but it does seem more solid than the other versions of Vibram. This may be due to the fact that despite what many people think, the previous versions such as the Vibram Five Fingers Classic and KSO’s were not made for actual “running”. I think the Bikila’s were created particularly for running.

Bottom line is it’s an excellent running shoe as well as training shoe and I thoroughly enjoy wearing it and running in them.

  1. I bought a pair of the Bikila two weeks ago, and I ran a 5 mile race in them this past weekend. It took a few times to get used to going from my Asics with the extra insole to running in these. I only ran a 1.5 miles the first day and gradually increased my mileage. I can tell my running form has improved drastically with these shoes. I always had foot problems after a run in my asics. I was so excited after the race, my feet felt great! These are wonderful shoes. Hopefully I won’t be the only one wearing them from where I am from for to much longer. I wish more stores sold them.

  2. I tried on a your shoes at a small outfitters shop in TX. The left foot fit perfectly in a size 40. I loved the way it felt…was ready to buy……..but when I tried on the size 40 on my right foot it was too small….not comfortable at all. I asked if I could buy a 39 for my right and a 40 for my left but the merchant was unable to do so.

I understand that many peoples feet are different sizes so my question to you is….can someone like myself purchase a customized pair…..since your shoes are so form fitting?
    thanks,
    Sarah

  3. Barefoot running is not the same as “shoed” running. The biomechanics of the running foot is quite complex. The natural running style of modern runners is a heel strike gait and imparts a great deal of force at the heel. Barefoot shoes are not made to absorb this force. If a runner makes the shift to a barefoot shoe they also need to make the shift to a different running style, the mid-foot or forefoot strike gait. Many stores are interested in selling shoes, not training runners and often times give the runner no information about this change in gait that is necessary inorder to avoid injury. If you wish to make this drastic change in foot gear be ready to make a drastic change in your running style.
